Performance @ Square 2

Blue and white attire- That was the dressing code for fantastic crew’s paid gig at Square 2 in Novena. It was my first performance with the crew members. I joined the crew officially about a month and a half ago after i got chosen from their audition. Ok let’s skip that. Anyway, BLUE AND WHITE??? It’s a pretty bad combination especially for brown skins. It’ll make me look like some Mats. Can you imagine?… Today marks the history of me dancing on stage looking like a typical Mat! Whatever…It doesn’t matter. What matters is the way you dance!

So Sandra [closest Fan Crew friend] and I came extremely early at about 4pm to practice some steps. It’s not that we didn’t practice at home…but everything seemed a little too last minute. 2 days ago the leader announced that we’re going to have shows and there’s a lot of last minute choreography.The hardest part is, we didn’t get to hear the real mix…and i didn’t know when to start dancing at which count, and i have no idea where my position is. So…ya. If i screwed up…it’s damn obvious because my part has only 3 people dancing on stage.

So…i really have to cross my finger. Anyway, the performance just now was great. Hmm… ok it’s good. Hmm…perhaps ok? Well somewhere around that line? During my solo part i seriously did a freestyle because i was suppose to carry the  girl up but she kinda forget it. The first dance was terrible cuz i turned at the wrong time! argh. Was kinda pissed with myself. My timing was all over the place. The second song was terrible because as a team…we were all over the place. Tsk tsk. It’s a modern piece and none of them who were dancing are good enough except this girl who’s jazz-trained.

So…that was it. We have our performance this sunday, and somewhere next week. I hope it’ll turn out to be much better. Oh i forgot to mention how bad the flooring was. It’s some carpet material that has high friction. Ahh…im just complaining like a kid.
