Opportunity
I always tell myself that whenever there’s opportunity to showcase my talent, i will make sure i accept it since it don’t come as frequent as the banglas in Singapore. Seriously.
Previously i was given a job that is good enough to cover all my transport and food money. Working as a freelance assistant dancer, i do earned quite a bit. It also gives me the experience to further enhance my self-esteem at the same time learning the different aspect of teaching.
Now, i was given a heavier responsibility. Just now, Derek confirmed with me that i’ll be a lead instructor at some girls school teaching skipping! Wheee…my childhood game. So Jess[my assistant] and i thought of several ways to make of skipping lesson interesting. I’ll make sure i convince the ‘boss’ that i can handle lead jobs so that in the future, i’ll be given more lead jobs! I’m quite elated partly because of the money as my rate increased.
Then, someone called. He said that there’s a 6-months contract job for me. I’ll be dancing at nightclubs for 3 times a week. I will be paid $120 per night. So if i accept his offer i’ll be a darn busy man. I really hope such opportunities last.
That’s why i’ll always go for auditions….because i never know if it could change life. Be it the “it’s my life” audition or the biased “orion”, i’ll still take part and gain both experience and exposure. Right now, i’m browsing through if there’s a drama workshop so that i can also teach drama…lol. I heard there’s such workshop conducted by Jack Neo but i’m not sure of the detail. Every participant will receive a certificate in the last session, which can be used to assist or teach drama.
The one thing that i would really love to happen is…for my my gingko pills to work! It’s improving but only slightly. ARgh. It’s very important for my job! Oh i really wish my brain works because almost all the time i only use 0.1% of it. Silly me.
Alright that’s about it for this entry. Short and swEEt.
:b
What a good friday!
I thought good friday was unlikely the best holiday since I can’t celebrate; plus this year i had no plans to go anywhere. So i woke up in the morning and text Yana, Nick and Kaye. Anjana was busy searching for her lost bollywood lover so she can’t make it. Kaye didn’t reply my message! But i reckoned she’s having some ceremony at church since it’s a Good Friday. Fortunately Yana and Nick were able to make it so it kinda save my horrible boredom on Friday.
Before i met them, I went shopping for some sneakers but none of them were appealing unless it’s the mid-range price from $100 onwards. We first met at Starbucks at erm…shoot…i’m not sure where but it’s somewhere near the sizzling hot merlion duo. It was really a last minute plan but it kinda work since we all had no plans at all. We went there to chill out and hope to find any drama members there. And we did! Fazeez was working and i think he’s the manager or something because he looked kinda different from the other staffs. He was as cheerful as we first met him for drama.
We talked crap [as usual] and planned to watch step up 2 movie so we walked all the way to Marina Square after our coffee [for Nick, it's chocolate]. Upon reaching the movie ticket counter, i saw K-box! So i looked at Yana and Nick and they looked back at me…i guess they should know what i was thinking! haha. Yana insisted because she was shy and all. But we carried on. So at that particular night…we sang our heart out. Beautiful melodies that captured all our hearts…NOT! haha. I was terrible. haha. I forced Yana to sing and she sang songs from Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera and all the TOP singers. lol. She had to sing since i kept telling her that i’m paying for it so she had no choice but to sing. It’s pretty expensive…total of $76! Luckily Nick sponsored $10 so the hole in my pocket is narrower.
For the finale, we sang ‘I don’t want to miss a thing’ while Yana became the camera woman. lol. Trust me, you’ll cry when you hear it. Quoted from Simon Cowell “Best rendition so far!” …by someone who can’t sing! hahaha! We sang our heart out with emotions and we even stand on the couch until this staff came and spoil the whole mood!!!
After that we went to…erm.. ouh! Dinner…and dance underneath the esplanade. We did saw nene [aka Syakira] and she joined us for a dance.
So the whole day was really great although i burned a lot of cash! lol. In any case..it doesn’t matter since it’s once in a while…plus i’ll always treat my friends whenever i have extra money.
